Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada (born 1 August 1948) is a Pakistani politician from Bahawalpur who currently serves as Federal Minister for Housing and Works. He has represented Bahawalpur in the National Assembly of Pakistan across several terms spanning more than three decades, under five different party affiliations.
Pirzada was educated at Sadiq Public School, Bahawalpur, and earned an LLB from University Law College, Lahore, in 1969. He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab in 1985, and first entered the National Assembly in 1993 on a Pakistan Peoples Party ticket. He was re-elected in 2002 on a National Alliance ticket and again in 2008 on a PML-Q ticket.
In 2011, Pirzada held a rapid succession of federal cabinet posts under Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani, serving as Minister for Minorities, then Health, and later Education and Professional Training. After joining PML-N and being re-elected in 2013, he was appointed Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination, a post he held, with a brief resignation in 2017, through the change of prime minister to Shahid Khaqan Abbasi.
Pirzada was re-elected to the National Assembly in 2018 and 2024. He served as Federal Minister for Human Rights from 2022 to 2023, and has held the portfolio of Federal Minister for Housing and Works since March 2024 in the coalition government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
