Beyond the great annual days, Saraiki cultural festivals are held throughout the year by arts councils, universities and community organisations across the Waseeb — celebrations of the region’s music, crafts, poetry and dress.
What Happens at a Saraiki Cultural Festival
A typical festival combines folk music concerts and kafi singing, Jhoomar performances, mushairas (poetry recitals), Ajrak and handicraft stalls, food streets serving regional specialities, and seminars on Saraiki language and history. Institutions such as the Multan Arts Council and the Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) regularly host Saraiki cultural programmes, and the biggest celebration of all is سرائیکی ثقافت ڏیہاڑ every 6 March.
