Poetry is the beating heart of the Waseeb, and Saraiki poetry festivals<\/strong> — mushairas, Farid conferences and literary melas — are held across the region throughout the year.<\/p>\n

The Mushaira Tradition<\/h2>\n

A mushaira is a gathering where poets recite before a live audience that responds verse by verse — an art form the Saraiki region has raised to a passion. The largest gatherings honour Khwaja Ghulam Farid<\/strong>, whose kafis remain the gold standard of Saraiki verse; literary conferences and recitals are held at his urs at Kot Mithan and in cities across the belt. Living legends such as Shakir Shuja Abadi<\/strong> draw enormous crowds whenever they appear.<\/p>\n
